'Existence Predicates'. Synthese, January 2020, Volume 197, Issue 1, pp 311–335 link
Abstract: Natural languages, the paper argues, generally distinguishes among different existence predicates for different types of entities, such as English 'exist', 'occur', and 'obtain'. The paper gives an in-depth discussion and analysis of a range of existence predicates in natural language within the general project of descriptive metaphysics, or more specifically ‘natural language ontology’.
